Hey everyone! This is Carla and I hope that you are enjoying February as much as I am! I know that Valentine’s Day is next Tuesday but I refuse to relegate love next week. I want to spread love and positive change everywhere! So right now I have decided to dedicate two weeks (thus far) towards spreading love. In this issue I will give you resources necessary to help you manifest positive change in both your personal and professional lives. Remember, achieving positive change is always an inside job!
It is very hard to create positive change. There I have said it! Positive change is harder than negative change because it requires more work. It is easier getting downsized than promoted. It is easier getting in a funk than coming out of one. However, just because positive change requires more does not mean that it is impossible.
Personal positive change
I have come across this resource from Tiny Buddha about positive change and energy. If you have read the blog, you would have seen some mindfulness articles. I am a big believer in mindfulness and shifting your energy. These activities take diligence and practice; however, they can be done. The article states that music is the easiest (but not the only way) to shift your energy. Myself, I love writing in my journal. It is organic and as soon as I write down my thoughts, I feel the energy leave my body and onto the pen and paper. Writing truly helps me when I am having a bad day and need to shift my energy quickly. Here is the Tiny Buddha article for other ways to positively shift your energy!
Professional positive change
We do not live in a bubble. Even if you are teleworking, you are still a part of a team. You will have some type of human interaction throughout the workweek. Therefore, it is essential that you guard your energy from certain coworkers or even managers. They could be energy vampires. Moreover, if you are at a company or in an industry where you are on the bad side of the business cycle, your environment will be filled with doubt. Here is a LinkedIn article giving you realistic steps towards dealing with change in the workplace.
Remember, every week I bring you the real about manifesting positive change. I can tell you from personal experience that it is not very. At times, it takes courage and a backup plan to realize positive change. I have been in toxic work environments. I have faced personal uncertainty; and, have come out of both of these situations better off.

While perusing LinkedIn this morning, I’ve come across Penny Zenker’s Why thinking positive doesn’t always get you the result’ article, (You can view the article link here: http://bit.ly/1GmlGOZ ). Her article has struck me because it’s about positivity right up http://positivitychange.com/ lane. I agree with Zenker that positive thinking alone doesn’t get you the desired result. Thinking must be paired with positive action. This combination the only way to get the desired result.
