I have some hard-earned wisdom that I have impart to all of my readers. You know that this place is all of being positive; but, sometimes, you can negative situations that lead to positive outcomes. I have recently had one.
I hired help to schedule my projects. Things were going okay but I felt that there was a communication issue. It got to the point where I felt that I wasn’t being heard so I hired book coach to help me with my goal. Less than one week later my book and workbook were steadily selling. The person I hired to help me sent me a very nasty email questioning whether or not I was coachable (for the record, I had two other coaches that said that I listened and did all of their assignments). That email showed me who she really was. I paid this person way more than the other coaches and didn’t get a fraction of the results.
And this is where wisdom and maturity kicked in…
I didn’t get mad. I just chucked it up to sunk costs!
I would never get my money back and even though I was in between jobs at the moment, I decided to focus on my moneymaking activities and put all of my effort and energy into promoting my book and workbook sales. That money was sunk cost. I mentally moved on from her. Yes, I completed the month’s contract but didn’t renew the contract because it was not working and I could get much more return on investment from my other coaches.
I go back to what Dr. Maya Angelou said: When people show you who they are, believe them. I truly believe this.
The person I had helping me was not going to change; so I decides to change by taking my money and energy elsewhere. I suggested you do the same whenever confronted with these types of people and situations.
