August 2017 Progress Report

As I posted on August 1st, I laid out my August goals. It is the halfway mark and I am returning with a progress report.

What I Did Do

  • I’ve celebrated my 2-year anniversary
  • More guest blogging

What I Did Not Do

  • My blogging series
  • Do a Positive Change Radio livestream
  • Promote the online store
  • Create a new email sequence

Celebrating my 2-year anniversary has given me clarity shifting my goals. I have also done some guest blogging. However, I have been focused on Facebook page and the community survey. Furthermore, I am downgrading my Selz store monthly membership. I will do my blogging series and create a new email sequence based on my blogging for two years.

PositivityChange Post : Issue 46 : Expanding Beyond Positivity

I am fresh off PositivityChange.com turning two years! I have ben reflecting a whole lot about the direction that I want the site to go. I am very happy that PositivityChange.com has conquered its mission and expanded into podcasting (Positive Change Radio). I am contemplating further expansion into doing a YouTube livestream. I have migrated my other Blogtalkradio show to YouTube Live certainly I can do the same thing with Positive Change Radio. I do think that this move would increase my reach since after 12 episodes of my other livestream show, I am gaining traction. I will keep you, the reader, posted on all of my developments to spread more positive change.

As always, follow us on PositivityChange Facebook page. Where we have even more ways to learn and experience positive change. Here is the video that I’ve shot celebrating PositivityChange turning two.

5 Reasons to Always Uphold Your Brand Promise

In business, your brand promise is everything. It tells your customer exactly what he should expect from your brand. It is your form of goodwill which you must uphold at all costs.

Here are 5 reasons to always uphold your brand promise:

Brand promise sets your apart from your competition

Regarding my online eBay store, I ship only domestic and global USPS priority mail. I also offer reasonable prices on tall women’s affordable luxury fashion. The customer knows this every time she enters my store. View your brand promise as your competitive advantage. Your competitive advantage is something that you do better than everyone.

It’s all about integrity

What does your brand stand for? Regardless of business cycle, maintaining your brand promise is a non-negotiable in business. Brands that don’t uphold it go out of business soon.

Enhances your customer’s experience

Your brand promise enhances and enriches your customer’s experience. Your brand promise creates a tangibility to customer. Since most business is conducted online, tangibility is a great service marker. Upholding your brand promise also means repeat customers and great word of mouth to potential customers.

Internally, as a business, your brand promise connects to your branding strategy

My eBay store motto is ‘giving you Neiman Marcus merchandise at near rock bottom prices’. Combining my motto with my brand promise, strengthens my brand strategy. My brand strategy is to serve tall women (and the men who love them) affordable luxury fashions. Knowing that she’ll get all of these benefits from my store enticing her to buy. This branding strategy also results in a 100% positive feedback rating.

No confusion about what I do (and don’t) offer

I focus on tall women’s luxury fashion. That’s it. Upholding my brand promise clearly communicates this message to the marketplace.

Business cycles fluctuate. Your brand promise shouldn’t. These 5 tips will help you avoid any lapses.

August 2017 Goals

August is here and so are my monthly goals! This month is different because July 31st I celebrated two years’ blogging on this site. I will dedicate all of August towards reflecting back and going forward on spreading more positive change. Here are my August monthly goals:

  • Celebrate my 2-year anniversary
  • Increase my writing frequency
  • Do a new freebie and email sequence based on my 2-year anniversary
  • More guest blogging

Reaching the 2-year mark is huge! There are blogs and social media apps (Blab, Huzza, Meerkat anyone!), that don’t survive two years! I have also published an Amazon bestselling book. This month I will celebrate what I have learned along the way. It is NOT wrong to do a victory lap! Writing down my reflections will also increase my writing frequency. I have been so busy with my two other sites, videos and live reporting that I haven’t written much outside of newsletters (Subscribe here! http://positivitychange.com/mailinglist – Shameless plug!). I intend to devote more focus on writing more.

I will also create a new freebie because what’s the point in celebrating when you don’t have any prizes or gifts? I mean, come on now! Of course, I come bearing gifts. I will create something exclusively for PositivityChange.com.

Finally, after two years and over 100 blog posts, it is time to branch out and do more guest blogging and freelancing. I do see myself using this money and exposure to revamp my site and create more content.

July 2017 Accomplishments

I admit when I first write down my monthly accomplishments this is only one thing: getting more Facebook followers. I will say that I have nearly forgotten that this month is my anniversary month. This changes everything because I have survived and thrived on the blogosphere! Below are my July accomplishments:

  • Gain more Facebook followers
  • Celebrate 2-year anniversary!

July is my anniversary month! I am very happy to have blogged for 2 years! Yes, I have created my site on July 31, 2015 and my first post is that generic WordPress site post but dang it – I am up on the Internet and ready for business! Blogging on this site has transformed me personally and professionally. Personally I have gained a whole new level of endurance from being consistent. Blogging is hard! I have to keep coming up with new ideas, concepts, and ways to expand. When I started in 2015, there were no Blogtalkradio podcast, now YouTube Live episodes, Facebook Live, nothing; just me, my laptop and my thoughts. I wanted to create a place where people can read about and enact positive change principles. I wanted to counter the notion that all change was negative. After 2 years, I felt that I had accomplished. Indeed, at the 2-year mark I was just getting started.

It took me up to this point to actually figure out a monetization strategy. Moving forward, I feel that I to do more ways of monetizing. I do see a positive mug and TV line in the very near future because I have been wanting to do that since the beginning. Now I am in a position to accomplish this.

Revisiting July 2017 Goals

August is here! That means checking in to see if I have fulfilled my July goals. http://positivitychange.com/2017/07/july-2017-monthly-goals/ Below I am revisiting them:

What I have accomplished:

  • Had highlighted and promoted my online products and shop

What I haven’t accomplished:

  • Didn’t run my 31 days of positivity
  • Didn’t experiment with YouTube Live for Positive Change Radio
  • Didn’t debut my new product this month
  • Didn’t increase my subscribers

Why haven’t I accomplished these goals:

  • I didn’t have time. Doing the two Expand Your Personal Brand livestreams, eBay livestreams and other blog-related livestreams, I didn’t have enough energy.

Am I going to take any of these unfinished July goals into August?

I am not running a 31 days of positivity. I have another series that I am running. I may do Positive Change Radio YouTube Live episodes. I don’t see me promoting the product that I wanted in July. I will create a new freebie and email sequence this month to increase my subscribers. More subscribers = more money.
